Contest Details

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities presents The American Quilt 2009: An American Masterpiece, in partnership with The Textile Museum. We are seeking quilt square ideas to construct a dynamic community quilt that will be unveiled and hung at The Textile Museum. The community is encouraged to submit text, drawings, pictures, or video describing their vision for a square. Five winners, determined by public voting, will be invited to attend a special VIP workshop conducted by quilting master Pat Autenrieth to actualize their winning idea, which will then be on display at The Textile Museum.
